Adult Basic Education

The Adult Basic Education (ABE) program is designed for students who want to strengthen their core skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. We provide the foundational knowledge necessary to succeed in higher-level academic courses, vocational training, or the workplace. Our instructors work with you to create a personalized learning plan that targets your specific needs.

Essential Competencies:

• Basic Language Arts: We cover foundational reading and writing skills to build your literacy confidence.

• Basic–Intermediate Mathematics: We provide instruction on core mathematical concepts, helping you master the skills needed for future success.

Successful completion of the ABE program provides a solid academic base and prepares you for your next steps. Our students use these foundational skills to transition into a variety of educational and professional opportunities, including:

• High School Diploma (HSD): Use your improved academic foundation to seamlessly enter our High School Diploma program and earn your official degree.

• High School Equivalency (HSE): Prepare for official GED® or HiSET testing with the reading, writing, and math confidence necessary to pass your exams.

• Career Advancement: Build the fundamental communication and math skills required to qualify for new jobs, promotions, or specialized career training programs.

Getting Started: Enrollment Details

We are here to make your enrollment process as smooth as possible. Please follow these steps to join our program:

  • New Students: Click the button above to visit our portal and select "Create Account" to begin your enrollment application.

  • Returning Students: Please log in to your existing account using your established credentials to view your profile and sign up for new courses.

• The Placement Test: After you register, you will be required to take a placement test. This assessment is not graded; it is simply a tool to help us identify your current skill levels so we can place you in the class that provides the right level of support for your goals.

• Counselor Meeting: After your placement test, you will meet with our counselor to review your score, discuss your personal goals, and finalize your placement into the appropriate class. 

Note: Please allow approximately 1–2 hours to complete the placement test and counselor meeting process.

• Is there a cost? No. The Adult Basic Education (ABE) program is completely tuition-free.

• What should I bring to the test? Please bring a photo ID/DL to the placement test. Arrive early as testing starts exactly at your schedule time.
