Foreign Transcript Records

ALL candidates with a foreign diploma/transcript must have it evaluated for the equivalency of a high school diploma within the United States. It is the students’ responsibility to have their transcript evaluated. The transcript evaluation must be turned into student services prior to the enrollment into programs that require it as a prerequisite.

While the agencies listed below are commonly used by our students, this is not a final list. Visalia Adult School generally accepts evaluations from any current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

Note: If you plan to use a service not listed on this page, please verify with the Student Services Office at (559) 730-7646 prior to purchasing your evaluation.

The below sites have been approved for students that need their foreign transcript/diploma translated and evaluated.

Why Should You Get Your Foreign Degree or Records Evaluated?

If you earned your education outside the United States, having your foreign transcripts evaluated is a crucial step toward unlocking new opportunities in education, employment, and professional licensing. Here’s why:

1. Recognition of Your Education in the U.S.
A credential evaluation translates your international academic achievements into U.S. educational equivalents. This helps colleges, universities, employers, and licensing boards understand the value of your foreign degree and ensures your hard work is recognized.

2. Required for Many Applications
Whether you're applying for a job, enrolling in an educational program, or seeking professional certification, many institutions and employers require a credential evaluation as part of the application process

3. Save Time and Money
Without an evaluation, you may be asked to repeat coursework or even entire degree programs. A proper evaluation can help you avoid unnecessary duplication and focus only on what’s needed to advance your goals

4. Meet Federal and State Requirements
For certain government jobs or licensing processes, foreign education must be evaluated by an approved credentialing agency to be considered valid. This ensures compliance with U.S. standards and improves your eligibility.

5. Boost Your Confidence and Career Prospects
Knowing your education is officially recognized gives you the confidence to pursue opportunities that match your skills and training. It also helps employers and institutions trust the authenticity and quality of your background
